If your looking for a great place to camp in a clean beach environment than this is the place. I camped in space #34 and was next to the camp host who worked every day cleaning the spots as than became vacant. Being from Florida, I appreciate this beach environment (authentic old Florida) and not the overly commercialized version. The only drawback to this area is the large mosquito population and proximity to good grocery shopping. The closest, large food market (like Wal-Mart) is 80 miles in either direction (Crawfordville or Panama City) so plan accordingly! I look forward to a winter return!!

Nice park but very cramped! Driving a 4 door truck and pulling a 26 foot travel trailer , I had a small issue with backing in but it was done. Very pretty during the "Octoberfest" period I discovered most of the campers were locals from the nearby town just getting away for the week. The park staff was nice and the trash service was unbeatable. Just put it out by the roadside and as an ongoing service the staff makes hourly runs picking up trash. I would stay there again, but the limited space to maneuver is the down side.

One of my favorites this park is close to all of the area's major attractions. The grocery stores (two major one's) within 10 minute drive. If you want to see the beach and Tybee Island lighthouse or downtown historic Savannah you wont get any closer. Now, the staff are not to be underrated either. They go out of the way to assist in making your stay one you will remember. The cable television isn't that great getting only three or four channels, but I go there for the overall experience. Very relaxing, large shade tree's and best of all if you have a reservation and arrive after hours you simply go set up and return to the rangers station early the next day and inform them of your location! Seriously, this beats paying $250.00 nightly in the historic district and is much more entertaining. Ive made this a quarterly stop. The only reason I do not give it a 10 is because there are only a couple of sewage hook-ups and they are reserved for camp host.

Although this park is very hard to get into (takes reservations up to a year in advance) we had a good time. The sites are small and in my case site #34 has to share the water hook-up with site #35, which means my water hose was too small and a trip into Marathon was made. Another down side is the dumpster is adjacent to the bath house and in the summer months those who dive for lobster and fish all day dump the remains in the dumpster and the summer heat can play cruel tricks on you during the day or night and the smell is bad. Other than that this is about the best overall camping area south of Marathon and north of Key West.
